Frequently Asked Questions
Are these one size?
Adult hats are one size and fit most heads; crowns, tiaras and headbands are adjustable or flexible. Anything cut for children, such as the sorting hat and the Roman centurion helmet, is marked as kids' on the product page. A loose hat can be brought in with foam tape inside the band.
Will a hat survive being posted?
Structured hats such as the cowboy hats and top hats travel with the crown packed out and come out of the box in shape. Soft felt witch hats and beanies may arrive creased and settle within a day. If a brim has a slight kink, hold it briefly over steam from a kettle and reshape it by hand.
Which of these work for children?
The beanies, gnome hats, halo headbands, the Harry Potter sorting hat and the centurion helmet are all made for smaller heads. Adult one-size hats will usually stay on an older child but slip on younger ones. Headbands are the most reliable choice for under-fives because there is nothing to fall off.
