Masquerade Ball

A ball needs a mask and not a great deal else. This is twenty-two of them, plus the gloves that usually go alongside.

Prices run from a plain white half face at £1.99 up to the Venetian demon and devil masks at £33.49, with cat eye masks, a black and white one with bead tassels, feathered and lace masks on sticks and a rhinestone bunny eye mask filling the middle. Satin pleated gloves in black, white and red are £8.99. If there is a sit-down dinner, a mask on a stick is the sensible choice — you can put it down to eat and pick it up again without flattening your hair.

Have a look at masks, gloves, glamour, costume jewellery and gothic horror.

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and it leaves us the same day. UK delivery is free over £30 and everything comes with 14 days to send it back.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do the masks fasten?

Most tie with ribbon at the back or sit on an elastic band, and the feathered and lace ones are mounted on a stick you hold. Ribbon ties are kinder on a hairstyle than elastic, which tends to pull a set of curls out of shape by the end of the night.

Can I wear a masquerade mask over glasses?

The half face and cat eye masks sit on the cheekbones and generally clear a slim pair of frames, though thicker arms can push the mask forward. A mask on a stick sidesteps the problem entirely and is what we would suggest if you wear glasses all evening.

Will the Venetian masks cover my whole face?

No, the Venetian pieces here are half masks that cover the eyes, nose and brow and leave the mouth free, so you can eat, drink and be heard. The demon and devil versions are the largest and extend up into horns above the brow.
