Description

The deluxe adult Hogwarts robe, officially licensed, cut full length with a hood and a clasp at the throat rather than a zip. The Gryffindor crest sits on the chest, so it reads correctly from a distance.

Sizing & fit

Sold in one adult size, cut generously so it goes over your own clothes rather than instead of them. It hangs from the shoulders and is not fitted at the waist, so it suits a wide range of builds, though it will sit shorter on anyone much over six foot. Check the size guide on this page before you order.

Styling it

Wear it open over a white shirt, a striped house tie and dark trousers so the uniform underneath shows. The house scarf and the round glasses finish it, and a wand in the hand saves you explaining who you are.

Care

Cold hand wash on its own and hang to dry. Do not tumble dry, and do not iron directly over the crest or the clasp. If it only needs freshening, hang it in a steamy bathroom overnight and the creases from the packet will drop out.

What's included?

The pack contains the hooded robe alone, full length with a clasp fastening and the Gryffindor crest. The shirt, tie, trousers, glasses, scarf and wand shown in the photos are not included.

What does one size actually fit?

One size items are cut to fit most adults, roughly a UK 8 to 16, and use elasticated or adjustable fastenings where they can. If you are outside that range, check the measurements in the size guide before ordering — one size is generous but it is not infinite.

Can I wash it?

Gently, and by hand. Costumes are made from lightweight polyester with printed and glued details that do not survive a washing machine. Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and keep the iron away from any printed panels. Spot cleaning is usually enough.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

Will it last more than one night?

Yes, with reasonable care. These are proper costumes rather than disposable ones, and most of our customers get two or three Halloweens out of them before children outgrow them. Hang it up rather than leaving it in a bag, and keep any mask or accessory in the original box.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
