Description

A full overhead latex baboon mask with hand-painted facial detail and grey and yellow faux fur attached around it. It is heavier and better finished than the thin moulded masks, and it holds its shape between wears.

Sizing & fit

One size, made for adults. It pulls down over the whole head, so tie long hair back or flatten it first. The latex has some give, but the neck opening is snug: ease it on from the chin upwards rather than dragging it over your face.

Styling it

Very little else is needed. A plain dark top and a pair of gloves let the mask do the work, or add a safari keeper's outfit if you want a scene.

Care

Wipe the inside with a damp cloth after wearing and let it dry fully before it goes away. Store it stuffed with tissue, out of sunlight and away from heat, as latex perishes if it is left folded or hot. A light dust of talc inside stops it sticking to itself.

What's included?

One mask, and that is all. It is a full overhead design in latex with the faux fur already attached, so there is no separate hair piece, hood or costume in the box.

What does one size actually fit?

One size items are cut to fit most adults, roughly a UK 8 to 16, and use elasticated or adjustable fastenings where they can. If you are outside that range, check the measurements in the size guide before ordering — one size is generous but it is not infinite.

How do I store a latex mask?

Wipe the inside with a damp cloth after wearing and let it dry completely before you put it away. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators, as heat and UV harden latex and make it crack. Stuffing it loosely with tissue helps it keep its shape between Halloweens.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
