Description

The Hogwarts Sorting Hat, made with the creased, aged look children recognise from the films. It is an officially licensed Warner Bros piece, so the shape and the weathered finish are right rather than approximate.

Sizing & fit

One size, made to fit most children. The crown is soft and unstructured, so it settles onto the head rather than gripping it, and it will sit lower on a smaller child. Adults with a smaller head size can usually wear it too, though it is cut for kids.

Styling it

Wear it with a house robe, a striped tie and a wand. If you are going as the hat's verdict rather than the hat itself, a scarf in your house colours does the job.

Care

Surface clean only with a barely damp cloth, then leave to air dry. Do not machine wash or soak, as the moulded creases will drop out. Store it upright with a little tissue inside the crown so it keeps its shape between wears.

What's included?

You get the Sorting Hat on its own, in one size. There is no robe, tie or wand in the pack, so pick those up separately if you want the whole Hogwarts look.

What does one size actually fit?

One size items are cut to fit most adults, roughly a UK 8 to 16, and use elasticated or adjustable fastenings where they can. If you are outside that range, check the measurements in the size guide before ordering — one size is generous but it is not infinite.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
