Size Guide

3-4 years	101-109cm	58cm	56cm	62cm
5-6 years	115-123cm	66cm	58cm	67cm

10-12 years	143-151cm	78cm	67cm	80cm

Go by height rather than age. These are the maker's own figures, and each size covers a wider age band than most UK children's clothes, so the height range is the best guide. Measure your child against a wall without shoes and pick the size whose height range they fall in. If they are at the top of a range or between two, take the next size up, as costumes go on over normal clothes.

Sizing & fit

Three sizes, 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years, each covering a wider age band than usual UK clothing. Choose by your child's height using the size guide on this page rather than by age. If they are between sizes, go up.

Available sizes: 5-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years. See the full size guide on this page before ordering.

Styling it

Wear it with black or white trainers. It pairs well with a police costume if friends or siblings are going as cops and robbers.

Care

Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron printed or glued areas. Most costumes are made from lightweight polyester and are not designed for repeated washing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included?

You get the striped hat, t-shirt and trousers. Shoes and any props such as a ball and chain are not included.

How do children's sizes work?

Children's costumes are sized by height in centimetres, not by age, because children of the same age vary enormously. Stand your child against a wall, measure to the top of their head, and pick the nearest size up. Remember they will almost certainly be wearing a jumper underneath on a cold October evening.

Can I wash it?

Gently, and by hand. Costumes are made from lightweight polyester with printed and glued details that do not survive a washing machine. Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and keep the iron away from any printed panels. Spot cleaning is usually enough.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

Will it last more than one night?

Yes, with reasonable care. These are proper costumes rather than disposable ones, and most of our customers get two or three Halloweens out of them before children outgrow them. Hang it up rather than leaving it in a bag, and keep any mask or accessory in the original box.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
