These are the maker's own measurements for this range, and they describe the body the costume is cut to fit rather than the garment itself. Measure your chest over the clothes you plan to wear underneath. STD is a one-size-fits-most cut that covers roughly S to L. If you are between sizes, or the costume has padding or armour panels, take the larger one.

Sizing & fit

Two adult sizes, M and L. The chest padding takes up room inside the suit, so it fits closer than the label suggests. Measure your chest and use the adult size guide on this page, and take the Large if you are broad across the shoulders or over six foot.

Styling it

Plain black boots or trainers disappear under the boot tops. Keep the belt sitting on the hips rather than the waist so the chest shape reads properly.

Care

Spot clean the jumpsuit and cape with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then hang to dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as the padding holds water and the chest piece can distort. Keep the iron away from the printed armour, and store the headpiece on a shelf rather than folded.

What's included?

Four parts: the padded jumpsuit with the hard muscle chest, printed armour and cuff spikes attached, a headpiece with the cape already fixed to it, a detachable bat belt, and boot tops that pull on over your own shoes. Footwear and gloves are not included.

The sizes seem small — should I order up?

Probably, yes. Costume sizing follows European measurements and runs roughly one UK size smaller than high street clothing. Check the size guide on this page against your actual measurements rather than the size you normally buy, and if you fall between two sizes take the larger one. Costumes are cut for a single evening, not for tailoring.

Can I wash it?

Gently, and by hand. Costumes are made from lightweight polyester with printed and glued details that do not survive a washing machine. Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and keep the iron away from any printed panels. Spot cleaning is usually enough.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

Will it last more than one night?

Yes, with reasonable care. These are proper costumes rather than disposable ones, and most of our customers get two or three Halloweens out of them before children outgrow them. Hang it up rather than leaving it in a bag, and keep any mask or accessory in the original box.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
