S	94cm / 37in	81cm / 32in
M	104cm / 41in	89cm / 35in
L	109cm / 43in	99cm / 39in

These are the maker's own measurements for this range, and they describe the body the costume is cut to fit rather than the garment itself. Measure your chest over the clothes you plan to wear underneath. STD is a one-size-fits-most cut that covers roughly S to L. If you are between sizes, or the costume has padding or armour panels, take the larger one.

Sizing & fit

Two adult sizes, Standard and XL, cut for men. Standard is the maker's one-size-fits-most option and XL is for a larger chest, so check your chest measurement against the size guide on this page. If you are between sizes, go up, as the padding takes up room inside the suit.

Available sizes: STD, XL. See the full size guide on this page before ordering.

Styling it

Add black gloves and plain black shoes or boots, with the boot tops pulled over them. Put the mask on last, once the cape is fastened.

Care

Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron printed or glued areas. Most costumes are made from lightweight polyester and are not designed for repeated washing.

Safety: Keep away from naked flames and cigarettes. This is a costume, not protective clothing. Check you can see clearly through the mask before going out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included?

You get the padded jumpsuit with attached boot tops, a belt, a cape and a moulded mask. Gloves and shoes are not included.

The sizes seem small — should I order up?

Probably, yes. Costume sizing follows European measurements and runs roughly one UK size smaller than high street clothing. Check the size guide on this page against your actual measurements rather than the size you normally buy, and if you fall between two sizes take the larger one. Costumes are cut for a single evening, not for tailoring.

Can I wash it?

Gently, and by hand. Costumes are made from lightweight polyester with printed and glued details that do not survive a washing machine. Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and keep the iron away from any printed panels. Spot cleaning is usually enough.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

Will it last more than one night?

Yes, with reasonable care. These are proper costumes rather than disposable ones, and most of our customers get two or three Halloweens out of them before children outgrow them. Hang it up rather than leaving it in a bag, and keep any mask or accessory in the original box.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
