Description

A skeleton set that looks like it is clawing its way out of the lawn: a skull, hands, legs and feet that you stake into the ground separately. Spaced out properly it is one of the better garden effects for the money.

Sizing & fit

One size, supplied as separate pieces rather than a whole body, so you decide how far apart to place them. Leave a realistic gap between the skull and the hands, and set the legs and feet a body's length behind.

Styling it

Push the stakes in at slight angles so the bones tilt rather than standing to attention. A low light aimed up from the ground and a few fallen leaves around the edges do the rest.

Care

Bring it indoors when you are not using it, as prolonged rain and frost will dull the finish. Rinse mud off with cool water, dry fully before packing away, and store the pieces in a box so the stakes do not snap.

What's included?

The set contains a skull, leg bones, feet and skeletal hands, along with ground stakes to secure each piece in place. There is no torso, and no lighting or backdrop is included.

What does one size actually fit?

One size items are cut to fit most adults, roughly a UK 8 to 16, and use elasticated or adjustable fastenings where they can. If you are outside that range, check the measurements in the size guide before ordering — one size is generous but it is not infinite.

Is this too scary for young children?

This one sits at the frightening end of our range and we would not recommend it for a primary school party or for children who are easily spooked. If you want the theme without the fear factor, look at our classic Halloween range — witches, pumpkins and skeletons get the same reaction without the nightmares.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
