This range is sized by age band rather than by height in centimetres, and the bands are generous — the 3-4 years fits a child up to 113cm, which is taller than four-year-olds usually are. Measure your child against a wall and use the height column. If they are between bands, take the larger one, since these go on over normal clothes.

Sizing & fit

Two toddler bands, 1-2 years and 3-4 years. Because a tabard is open at the sides and goes over the top of normal clothes, the fit is forgiving — far more so than an all-in-one. If your child is between bands, take the larger one and let it sit long.

Green or black leggings and a long-sleeved top underneath, and you are done. The plush is warm enough that this one works outdoors in October without a coat ruining the look.

Care

Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron printed or glued areas. Most costumes are made from lightweight polyester and are not designed for repeated washing.

What's included?

How do children's sizes work?

Children's costumes are sized by height in centimetres, not by age, because children of the same age vary enormously. Stand your child against a wall, measure to the top of their head, and pick the nearest size up. Remember they will almost certainly be wearing a jumper underneath on a cold October evening.

Can I wash it?

Gently, and by hand. Costumes are made from lightweight polyester with printed and glued details that do not survive a washing machine. Hand wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and keep the iron away from any printed panels. Spot cleaning is usually enough.

Is this costume fire-safe?

All of our costumes are made to the toy safety standards required for sale in the UK and carry the appropriate labelling. That said, no costume is fireproof. Keep well away from candles, pumpkin lights, open fires and cookers, and never leave a child in a costume unsupervised near a naked flame. If you are lighting a pumpkin, use an LED tealight.

Will it last more than one night?

Yes, with reasonable care. These are proper costumes rather than disposable ones, and most of our customers get two or three Halloweens out of them before children outgrow them. Hang it up rather than leaving it in a bag, and keep any mask or accessory in the original box.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery is 2-3 working days and free on orders over £40. Next-day delivery is available at checkout up to 3pm. In the week running up to Halloween we recommend ordering by the Monday to be safe — couriers get very busy and we would rather you had it early.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send anything back, provided it is unworn and still has its tags and original packaging. Start the return at fancydressclub.co.uk/returns and we will email you a label. For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on wigs, fangs, cosmetics, prosthetics or hosiery once the packaging has been opened.
