IT & Pennywise Costumes

Pennywise is the costume that clears a room. The officially licensed Smiffys IT 1990 costume is the Tim Curry version — the silver-buttoned suit, the ruff, the orange pompoms — and it is the only piece on this page that carries the licence.

The rest are killer clowns in the same register, and a couple of them get very close. The women's vintage horror clown is the one people mistake for Pennywise at a distance: greyish ruffled dress, red frizz, red balloon. The men's horror clown and the evil clown suit cover the adult end, and there are kids' and boys' versions if the whole family is going as something that lives in a drain.

Finish it with the clown knife prop, and white face paint and a red balloon from anywhere — those two do more work than anything else you can buy.
