Wednesday is the one people ask for, and the wig does most of the work — the centre parting and the two long black plaits read from across a room before anyone clocks the rest of the outfit. The kids' wig is the officially licensed Rubies one; the adult plaits wig is the same silhouette in a grown-up fit.

The rest of the page is the supporting cast. Plain black tights, long pleated gloves and a floor-length high-collar gown for a Morticia line. Fishnet fingerless gloves and flat black lipstick for the sixth-form-goth version. And a stitched severed hand that does a very passable Thing on a mantelpiece.

Only the Rubies wig is an officially licensed Addams Family product. The rest are pieces we have picked because they build the look — worth knowing if you are buying for a competition or a licensed-character brief.
